The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is implementing a ”significant procedural change” that will impact all employer-sponsored immigration applications.
Key Changes Effective July 2, 2025:
Shift to Employer-Led Process
- Employers must now first register job positions through the new digital portal before candidates can submit Expressions of Interest (EOIs)
- Paper-based Employer Forms will be ”discontinued’
System Transition Timeline
- June 20-July 2: No new EOIs can be created for Employer Job Offer streams
- June 21-22: All existing EOIs in these streams will be automatically withdrawn
- June 27-29: Complete system blackout (no submissions possible)
- July 2: New portal goes live
Why This Matters: These changes aim to streamline processing but create a critical window where applications cannot be submitted. Proactive preparation is essential to avoid delays in your immigration pathway.
